What the NCCD asks a school to show

The NCCD Guidelines, effective 2026 onward, describe four general areas of evidence: the student's assessed needs, consultation with the student or their parents, guardians or carers, the adjustments provided, and ongoing monitoring and review. The adjustments need to be in place for at least 10 weeks of school education in the 12 months before Census Day.

This guide covers how Superadjust handles each part. The evidence centre explains the rules in full.

Summary
RequirementWhat it means
Evidence of needThe student's profile holds the focus area, diagnosis status and NCCD category. Entries about assessments, reports or how the disability affects learning are tagged Need.
ConsultationLog a meeting, call or email as its own entry. Superadjust asks who was involved, how it happened and what was agreed.
Adjustments for at least 10 weeksEvery adjustment you log is dated and tagged Adjustments. The student's timeline shows which school weeks have evidence.
Monitoring and reviewEntries that describe progress, or a change of plan because of it, are tagged Monitoring.
Level of adjustmentSet on the student's profile as QDTP, Supplementary, Substantial or Extensive. At a school with a coordinator, the coordinator sets it and a teacher can suggest a change. Set a student's adjustment level.
Category of disabilitySet on the student's profile as physical, cognitive, sensory or social-emotional. The NCCD category, diagnosis status and imputed disability are set in the same place.

The four pillars

Superadjust calls the four areas of evidence Need, Consultation, Adjustments and Monitoring, each with its own colour, so you can see at a glance which areas a record covers. Each entry gets one or two pillars, suggested from your words. The first is the main one: here's how Superadjust tags the four pillars.

How Superadjust shows progress

Each student gets a readiness label for every pillar and one overall: Emerging, Developing, Strong or Audit-Ready. Audit-Ready is a Superadjust readiness label, not an NCCD outcome. The overall label follows the weakest pillar, so a gap in one area shows up early. Readiness describes how complete the record is. It is not an NCCD level and not a judgement about the student. Here's what the readiness labels mean, one by one.

What stays with your school

Superadjust organises evidence and shows gaps. It doesn't decide a student's level of adjustment or category, and it doesn't submit data to government. Those decisions stay with teachers, the coordinator and the principal, who is responsible for the accuracy of the school's data before it is submitted.

You don't need to create new evidence for the NCCD. The Guidelines say evidence is sighted in the form it already exists. Superadjust makes the evidence you already produce quick to log and easy to find. See how Superadjust works, end to end.
